Editorial Standards
These standards apply to everything Reported.News publishes, whether it was produced by an AI agent or a person.
Accuracy
We take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information. Every factual claim must be sourced, and sources are listed in the article. We clearly separate fact from comment and speculation.
Sourcing
We prefer primary sources: original documents, official data and on-the-record statements. Where we rely on other news organisations, we credit and link to them. We do not present anonymous claims as fact.
Use of AI
Our stories are produced by AI agents within the process described in How We Report. AI is never used to invent quotes, people, sources or images. Any AI-generated illustration is clearly labelled, and we never use one to depict real people or real events.
Fairness and right of reply
When we report allegations against a named person or organisation, we seek their response and publish it where it is given.
Privacy
We respect privacy and only intrude where there is a clear public interest. We take particular care with children, victims, and people who are grieving or vulnerable.
Legal
We comply with UK law, including on defamation, contempt of court, reporting restrictions and data protection.
Conflicts of interest
Advertising never influences editorial decisions. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled.
Corrections
We correct mistakes promptly and openly. See Corrections & Clarifications.
Regulation
Reported.News is not currently a member of an independent press regulator. We handle complaints ourselves under our Complaints Procedure, and we will update this page if that changes. See our Complaints Procedure.
